Construction on CCC Training Center![]() The construction of the new Convalescent Care Center has been showing a lot of activity in the last couple of weeks. We are hard at work digging the trenches for concrete and installing the first pipes for the new building.

New at LVMC, Floors & Ceilings![]() Just a few weeks ago the new hospital looked very cold and empty inside. Since then we've been hard at work installing carpets, linoleum & tile. Many rooms are now carpeted and the main hallway has a beautiful new tile design! In addition we've started putting in ceiling tiles and lighting including a new roof for the service yard. We've also added several new pictures to our construction section.

Construction Progress![]() Jim Raggio We documented another historic moment for Lompoc Valley Medical Center (LVMC) this past Monday when the Board of Directors awarded over $30 million worth of contracts for construction of the "I" building at the new hospital site. The awarded bids placed the project a little over budget and the good news is the interest earned over the next two years from bond proceeds in the bank will cover the slight cost escalation.

A New Name for LHD![]() Jim Raggio By Jim Raggio In this article I'd like to give you a brief history of Lompoc Healthcare District and also inform you of some exciting changes recently authorized by the Board of Directors. On October 22, 1942 Lompoc Community Hospital Association was formed with the assurances from the federal government they would provide financing ($170,000) to build an acute hospital for the Lompoc community. Construction began and the Lompoc Community Hospital opened in 1943 under the terms of an interim agreement between the Lompoc Community Hospital Association and the federal government, who provided the financing.
