Our 19th Annual Walk-a-thon

The 19th Annual Lompoc Hospital Foundation Walk-a-Thon is a five-mile or 5K (3-mile) walk on a designated route in Lompoc. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The five-mile walk will take approximately two hours to complete. The walk starts at 9:00 a.m. and should be completed by 11:00 a.m. The walk starts and ends at Ryon Park at Ocean Avenue and O Street in Lompoc.

PLEDGES

Walkers are requested to collect all monies at the time of solicitation. This will avoid time-consuming follow-up.

A pledge is an amount of money paid by a friend, co-worker, family member or business acquaintance to a person walking in the Walk-AThon. Usually, the pledge is for a flat amount. All donations are tax deductible. Both money and pledge card must be returned at the time of the walk. Donors are encouraged to pay by check.

RULES FOR PARTICIPANTS

1. Starting point for the Walk-A-Thon is Ryon Park at Ocean Avenue and O Street. All walkers are asked to be there at 8:30 a.m. to register and turn in monies. The walk begins at 9:00 a.m.
2. Walk-A-Thon route: Please see the map at the right. The map includes a list of businesses along the route who will be providing restroom facilities for your use on the day of the walk.
3. All walkers must sign the non-liability waiver on the reverse. These must be submitted when you register on the morning of the walk.
4. All walkers are required to submit their pledge sheet and all monies collected the morning of the walk. Checks should be made payable to Lompoc Hospital Foundation.
5. Wear comfortable loose clothing, appropriate for this event. If it rains, bring appropriate clothing. Walk will proceed rain or shine.
6. If you find you are unable to complete the walk, transportation will be provided to take you back to Ryon Park. Transportation vehicles will be monitoring the walk route.
7. A complimentary lunch at Ryon Park will be provided for all participants at the conclusion of the walk.
8. All participants who turn in $75.00 or more on September 19th will be awarded a 19th Annual Walk-a-Thon tee shirt.
9. Prizes will be awarded to the three walkers who turn in the highest amount of money on September 19th.
